Friends of the Syracuse Public Library silent auction

HOW ABOUT this cute photo taken by Editor-In-Chief Deb Patterson at the Wawasee Property Owners Association-Syracuse Lake Association breakfast? Young Isaac Wingo is checking out just a few of the 11 paddles in the Friends of the Syracuse Public Library silent auction.

The auction for the paddles by local and regional artists was kicked off at the breakfast. The paddles are now at the Syracuse Public Library awaiting more bidding. The auction continues until Monday, Aug. 9. Proceeds help the FOL assist the library with out of budget items.

It seems the Saturday event was a very successful opening day for the paddle bids. Remind friends and neighbors about the paddles, to stop in the library and make a bid on favorites. Hats off to FOL members including paddle chairman Allison Ellis, Jan Rose, June Miller, Cathy Young and Becky Brower for all their help.

Friends of the Library is also looking for gently used books, games, puzzles, DVDs to sell to raise funds. Donations are accepted at the Syracuse Public Library during regular hours. Please do not leave boxes outside the library.
