GNO Bench.

GNO bench

HAVE YOU noticed the new bench along the trail that says GNO? Cruzin noticed the new bench along the Conklin Bay Trail section on WACF property and now has the scoop. GNO stands for Girls Night Out. Pictured from left are Merlee Bigler, Jan Kendall, Becky Fox, Susan Todd, Barb Coon, Bill Coon, Betsy Roby, Charlotte Hamor, Cindy Harper and Sally Springer.

It is an organization that started in the summer of 2005. These women enjoy theme night, euchre and give each month to local charities, such as Teen Parents Succeeding, Rose Home North, North Webster Food Pantry, Syracuse Food Pantry, breast cancer, and Miller’s Merry Manor, and gifts for K of C Bingo.

Also, a public ribbon-cutting ceremony is scheduled for the Conklin Bay Boardwalk and Trail. The ceremony will be conducted by the Syracuse-Wawasee Trail Committee and Syracuse-Wawasee Chamber of Commerce at 11 a.m. Thursday, July 30, at the entrance to the Wawasee Area Conservancy Foundation headquarters on SR 13, about a mile south of the Syracuse sign.
