Uptown Syracuse

THIS IS one of Cruzin’s favorite photos of uptown Syracuse. It shows a temporary arch built in 1937. Behind it is the second or third Pickwick Block … too many fires to count! Ha! You can see part of the Pickwick theme in the back building and then the Art Deco style replacement next to it.

Chicago businessman and inventor W.E. Long built both of those Pickwick Blocks, Cruzin’ thinks but could be wrong. These burned in 1971.
