Syracuse continues to help those in need

The offer of free meals to those in need continues in Syracuse the remainder of this week.

The Channel Marker Restaurant, 5793 E. Pickwick Road, Syracuse, provided 600 free meals starting at 4 p.m. on, April 29. The meal consisted of grilled island chicken, smashed red potatoes, salad with dressing, roll and butter.

Sponsors have joined with Louie’s Bar & Grill for 700 meals 4 p.m. Thursday, April 30. The menu was sloppy joe sandwiches and chips. Louie’s is located at 209 E. Bowser Road, Syracuse. Sponsors include Clint Davis Construction LLC, Re/MAX Partners, Close Home Inspections LLC and Davis Farms.

The Owls Nest, 7369 E. 800N, North Webster, is again giving back by offering 750 free curb side meals starting at 4 p.m. Saturday, May 2. The meal includes chicken fried steak, corn and mashed potatoes and gravy.

Business sponsors include Brian Wuthrich of Hahn/Polk Auctions, North Webster Church of God, Bud’s Body Shop, Clayton Garden Center and Bayview Appraisals. Families helping sponsor the meals include Grossnickle, Meerzo, Williams, Mayer, Strombeck, Francis, Smith, Peterson, Grausselin, Mark, Milton, Knateeb, Leiter, Goldenberg, Walls, Milton, Thyrstrup, Mitchell, Kissenger, Likens and Schenkel.
