Closings, cancellations and postponements

Here are local closings, cancellations and postponements of events and meetings due to the novel coronavirus COVID-19. These are the ones The Mail-Journal has been notified about.

All Wawasee Community Schools are closed until May 1.

Milford

Milford Public Library is closed until April 1. Evergreen has extended all due dates until April 28. The library’s digital collection is still available.

Milford Kiwanis Club Easter egg hunt has cancelled for April 11. It will not be rescheduled in 2020.

Milford Town Council regular meeting has been cancelled for April 13.

North Webster

Town of North Webster buildings are closed to the public until further notice. Sewage payments can be made via the drop box or by mail. 

North Webster Senior Prime Life Enrichment Center aka the senior center is closed until further notice. 

North Webster Legion Post 253 is closed until further notice. Check with the Legion regarding carry-out service.

North Webster Community Center closed all fitness rooms including yoga, cardio pilates, drumming, iron girl, etc., the gymnasium and meeting rooms such as the party room and banquet hall, until further notice. This does not include the YMCA. No children will be allowed in the facility under the age of 16 without a parent or guardian.

Coffee & Canvas class scheduled for March 28 at the North Webster Community Public Library has been cancelled. If you signed up through the instructor Karla Hayden, contact her for a refund. If you signed up at the library, contact Adult Services Director Beth Smith for your refund. The classes will be rescheduled at a later date.

Barbee Hotel is closed until further notice.

Syracuse

Town of Syracuse buildings are closed to the public until further notice. This includes town hall, police station, community center and waste treatment plant. Sewage and water payments can be made via mail, drop box on west side of town hall and on line. Penalties and disconnects will be suspended until April 15.

Syracuse Alumni Association banquet has been cancelled for 2020.

Syracuse-Wawasee Garden Club Tuesday, April 7, meeting
is cancelled.

Syracuse-Wawasee Rotary has suspended noon Tuesday meetings at The Sleepy Owl until further notice.

Wawasee Area Conservancy Foundation has cancelled Earth Day Celebration Saturday, April 25.

Syracuse REAL Services and the Syracuse Senior Center at the Syracuse Community Center are closed. Carry-out meals are available weekdays. For more information contact Carolyn Hapner, (574) 457-2631.

Syracuse American Legion Post 223 is closed until April 1, when reevaluation will occur.

Syracuse-Wawasee Chamber of Commerce is closed and all events cancelled until further notice. Director may be contacted by phone (574) 457-5637 or email renea!swchamber.com.

Syracuse-Wawasee Historical Museum is closed until further notice. IU Bicentennial Exhibit has been postponed. A new date will be announced later.

Lakeland Youth Center has tentatively delayed the start of spring soccer. Registration deadline has been extended to Tuesday, April 21. Practices are tentatively scheduled to start the week of May 4, first game May 9 and tournament June 13. Register online at www.lakelandyouthin.myrec.com/
