Making Progress

MAKING PROGRESS — Progress is being made on the Conklin Bay boardwalk project in Syracuse. The warmer than usual winter has allowed Selge Construction Company to make good progress building the wetlands boardwalk section of the Conklin Bay trail. The trail project is anticipated to be completed in May. The wetlands portion of the trail will consist of one-third mile of boardwalk over the Conklin Bay/Rolland Conservation Area wetlands. It will have three small overlook areas and one large observation platform, which will allow a better view of Lake Wawasee. The large observation platform and hand and side rails will be completed in March, followed by the completion of the remaining cement sidewalk sections and reclamation and reseeding the entire project area.
