Labor Day!

Labor Day has snuck up on us this year as it is early Monday, Sept. 2. Local, county, state and federal offices and local schools will be closed for summer’s last hurrah. It should be crowded on the lakes so be safe out there.

In honor of the summer season of 2019 ending, here is a scene taken from South Shore Inn, which burned in 1964. It sat where the South Shore Condominiums do now. It was quite the place to be from the 1920s on. The scene here is ideal.

The beautiful white building with the expansive lawn took the place of two previous hotels called Wawasee Vawter Park Hotel and Vawter Park Hotel. Both burned.
