Oakwood Fine Arts Festival At Lake Wawasee This Weekend
SYRACUSE — Chautauqua-Wawasee is holding the fifth annual Oakwood Fine Arts Festival June 22 on the lawn of Oakwood Resort in Syracuse.
This Festival brings together 20+ local and regional artists from around the northern Indiana area. The outdoor setting provides a family-friendly environment that has been well attended each of the prior years. The event runs from 10 a.m. until 7 p.m. Food vendors are on site for snacks, lunch and dinner, with outside seating available. Also, the Oakwood Inn restaurant offers a full menu with both indoor and outdoor lakefront dining.
Along with the festival’s music entertainment, the Wawasee Wooden Boat Show is nearby at the Oakwood Inn piers. There will be more than twenty classic woodies on display. Attendance is free. Ample parking is available.
Chautauqua-Wawasee (pronounced shuh-tah-kwah) provides family events in support of four pillars: arts, education, religion and recreation. Based on the original Chautauqua Institution, founded in the town of the same name in southwestern New York State in 1874, Chautauqua-Wawasee is a non-profit organization dedicated to the exploration of the best in human values and the enrichment of life through a series of programs and events. Throughout the year, programs are held in the Syracuse-Wawasee area, with many held at Oakwood Resort. http://www.chautauquawawasee.org
