Chautauqua-Wawasee events Celebrate summer with

Connect, renew, discover and celebrate with Chautauqua-Wawasee events this summer. Most events will be held at the Oakwood Resort, Syracuse.Each year, Chautauqua’s schedule is filled with summer fun for the local community.The 2018 summer schedule includes:Fort Wayne Philharmonic Patriotic Concert — 7:30 p.m. Sunday, June 27. Bring lawn chairs or a blanket to enjoy this free concert for the whole family. There will be an activity for children. Food and beverages will be available for purchase. Rain out location will be Wawasee High School.SummerFest — 11 a.m to 3 p.m. Saturday, June 30, Event Center lawn between the building and chapel at Oakwood Resort. Fun for the whole family. Live music will be provided by Will Certain. Pipsqueak and Clarabelle the clowns will be on hand to entertain the children. Rool-N Smoke Barbecue Truck will be on hand. There will also be an ice cream social and face painting.Plein air painting — Friday, July 13, through Sunday, July 15. Members of the Indiana Plein Air Painters will be having a paint out at Lake Wawasee and the surrounding area.Oakwood Fine Arts Festival — 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 25. This annual family-friendly event brings artists from around the area and gives the lake community the opportunity to experience fine art in an up-close and personal, yet casual outdoor setting. Along with local fine artists and artisans, attendees can enjoy music, fare from local food trucks and kids craft activities, as well as take in the view of Oakwood Resort’s beautiful setting along Lake Wawasee.
