Just in Case

Turkey Creek Fire Territory firefighters and paramedics/EMTs spent two days last week and Monday morning working on techniques for ice rescues, a rescue they hope is not needed, but training necessary just in case they are called upon. The department will also be working on rescue techniques Wednesday evening. The ice conditions are perfect for the training exercise as the warm temperatures are creating unstable ice and fishermen and other enthusiasts are still being seen on the ice.Shown during the training are paramedic/EMT Mike Litchfield in the water, rescuing Brian Richcreek, department trainer.
