Syracuse-Wawasee Historical Museum and the Syracuse Public Library have received an LSTA grant

THOSE WHO enjoy Garry Ringler’s postcard and old photo collection will like this news. Syracuse-Wawasee Historical Museum and the Syracuse Public Library have received an LSTA grant through the Indiana State Library to add Garry’s extensive postcard collection to Indiana Memories.Becky Miller, an adjunct professor at Ivy Tech, is scanning and uploading the collection. Much Indiana history can be accessed through the Indiana Memories website with area history found in the Syracuse-Wawasee Digital Archives.Here is one of the postcards. Lake View Hotel was located on Lake Wawasee’s south shore. Guests got off at the Wawasee train depot and took the steamer boat to the hotel.
