Syracuse access ramp to be upgraded
The public access ramp on Medusa Street, Syracuse, will be closed by the Indiana Department of Natural Resources Oct. 2-20. The state will be upgrading the ramps.According to Paul Stork, Northern Access DNR, the work will include removing the existing cement ramps and pier that separate the two ramps. These ramps, which go approximately 20 feet into the channel, will be replaced with new ramps extending further into the channel. There will also be an ADA compliant pier off to one side. It is unknown at this time if a pier will be installed between the two ramps.Residents who utilize the ramp to remove boats before winter are encouraged to note the closing dates.
