Distinguished Hoosier Award

Eleanor Organ, 100, from Marion, but a lifelong resident of Wawasee Lake, was presented not only a Distinguished Hoosier Award from Gov. Mike Pence but also a resolution from the General Assembly by State Rep. Kevin Mahan, District 31. Organ has been coming to Lake Wawasee all her life. Her parents rented a home on the lake and then she rented a home on the lake until 1969 when she bought a home on Waco Drive. The House resolution was adopted March 6, during the second regular session of the 118th General Assembly.A large group of friends and family were at the Organ Waco Drive home Tuesday evening, July 1, for the presentation. The recognition was the efforts of John Earnest, Syracuse Lake, and Bill Hasbrook, family friends.
