Carol Jones Kiley, Former Kindergarten Teacher, dies

carol-jones-kileyCarol Jones Kiley, 77, Marion, died at 9:40 a.m. Saturday, July 14, 2012, in her residence.She was born Aug. 23, 1934, in Marion, Ind., to the late Ira B. and Mary "Dudie" (Meguiar) Jones. Carol was a life resident of Marion and a 50-year summer resident of Lake Wawasee.She married Michael Joseph Kiley on June 21, 1958. He preceded her in death on May 20, 2008.Carol received her bachelor's degree in home economics from Purdue University. She was a former kindergarten teacher at Horace Mann Elementary School and a member of St. Paul Catholic Church, Marion, St. Martin dePorres in Syracuse, the Purdue Kappa Kappa Gamma Sorority, Tri Kappa, Marion, Meshingomesia Country Club and Tippecanoe Lake Country Club. Carol was a volunteer at Marion General Hospital and the Hostess House.She is survived by a daughter, Ann (Paul) Schneider, New Hope, Minn.; two sons, Daniel (Susan) Kiley, Fishers, and Matthew (Jane) Kiley, Granger; a sister, Susie (Alan) Nelson, Muncie; a brother, Sam (Linda) Jones, South Bend; and four grandchildren, Megan and Madeline Kiley, Fishers, and Jake and Sean Kiley, Granger.Services were held at 1 p.m. Thursday, July 19, at St. Paul Catholic Church, 1009 Kem Road, Marion, with Father David Newton officiating. Burial will be in Estates of Serenity, Marion. Visitation was from 4 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Wednesday at Needham-Storey-Wampner Funeral Service North Chapel, 1341 N.
