IN LIGHT of the current weather, here is a photo from the Syracuse-Wawasee Historical Museum’s Facebook page featuring the ice plant formerly located on Syracuse Lake. This plant, previously a part of the 400 block of Front Street, was there for many years and eventually became a home, which has since been torn down with a new one being built in its place. Blocks of ice were cut from the lake, stored and eventually sold throughout the area or delivered elsewhere by train. A neat little piece of lake history!
