Doug and Helen Yoder of Syracuse will celebrate 50 years of marriage Friday, Aug. 3. Their celebration will include time with family and a party with friends and extended family.Doug and Helen met in Syracuse, where Doug grew up and Helen would vacation at their family cottage on Lake Wawasee. They married Aug. 3, 1968, at First Christian Church in Noblesville. Doug worked for 35 years for General Motors/Delco Electronics in Kokomo. Helen taught elementary school for many years. They are both retired and enjoy traveling in their motor home and spending summers on Wawasee. Doug stays very involved in the Wawasee Area Conservancy Foundation.Doug and Helen have two children, Beth Russo of Carmel, and David Yoder of Ponte Vedra Beach, Fla.
