By Deb PattersonStaff Writer A lone fisherman who was rescued from the waters at Shock Lake, in the Tri-County Fish and Wildlife Area off CR 850N, was transported to Kosciusko Community Hospital. His condition is unknown.At approximately 12:58 p.m. Thursday, April 26, Turkey Creek Fire Territory received a call of a fisherman who had fallen out of his boat in the water. Turkey Creek Fire Territory along with North Webster Fire Department responded with their rescue boats.According to initial information, several men came to the lake for a lunch break when they noticed the empty boat and an individual calling for help. The fisherman, who was wearing a life jacket, was found approximately 100 yards north of where his boat was anchored. Turkey Creek Fire Territory launched its rescue boat and pulled the man to safety.Information at the scene indicates the fisherman was in the water for approximately one hour before anyone was able to hear his calls for help. The water temperature reading was 55 degrees.Conservation officers with the Indiana Department of Natural Resources launched their watercraft and were able to recover a 2018 Sundolphin kayak. It is reported the kayak was anchored in approximately 30 feet of water.Further details have not been released by the DNR.Responding were Turkey Creek Fire Territory Fire and Paramedics, North Webster Fire Department, Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department and DNR Conservation Officers.
